Big
E
The
space for the EMS booth at the Big E has been confirmed. The coordinator for the New England Bldg.
has asked that we consider a more "open" structure for our space this
year. They are attempting to eliminate
the "people in boxes" impression.
By
coincidence we also discussed changes to our presentation and this will work
out well. We discussed the concept of
using the theme: "EMS, A Career Choice" and concentrating our focus
on recruiting young people (Middle School through High School) to the various
facets of EMS.
Several
ideas were brought up:
·
Flexing
the display board in a convex rather than concave form
·
An
interactive EMS computer station using (?) the MERS EMS Simulator and to look
for some other suitable software.
·
Selecting
videos that are focused on the career rather than the gore.
·
Vetting
the materials displayed to use only eye-catching items that inform youth of the
possibilities in EMS
·
Requesting
"Historic" photos and memorabilia from our member services for a
"Then And Now" theme.
Action:
Mr. Cote will search for appropriate software and secure permission to use one
of the office computers for the display.
All
members will seek out memorabilia from services.
