Membership List:

Discussion -

Mr. Cote reports the membership list has been updated and requested corrections to the new copies passed out today.

 

? State Funding:

            Discussion –

Per Committee request, Capt. Keefe wrote letter to Mr. Prenney (DPH/OEMS) requesting clarification on state Comm.'s intentions and funding.  No reply yet.

            Action – Letter sent two weeks ago.

 

Letter to Legislature:

            Discussion –

Legislative Breakfast will be held March 23 in Northampton.

Should we hold further correspondence with legislators until after the Breakfast?

            Action – General agreement we hold.

 

CMED information:

            Discussion –

Mr. Cote reports that Mr. Controvitch unable to be present due to out of state commitment. Committee expressed dissatisfaction at not being able to speak directly to him re info on CMED transfer.

Mr. Zlogar made a motion that the Committee will make priority to obtaining information needed to make decisions on CMED transfer.  A letter formally notifying Jim Controvitch and other parties of request for all operational information of CMED

            Action – Seconded, unanimously passed.

 

Comm.'s Survey:

            Discussion –

Mr. Cote rpts that 23% of 264 surveys sent out have been submitted. Beginning data entry and summaries.  Chief Coulombe suggested that a form be distributed and each member do some of the data input, to be merged later. 

            Action- Project Ongoing

 

Reports:

                Mr. Cote submitted reports on State Communications Comm. and Logging Recorders. Reports on file.

 

New Business

 

CMED Tour:   

Discussion –

The remainder of the meeting was taken up with a tour of the AMR Communications Center and the Springfield CMED installation.

Mr. Cote presented a slide show on the history of EMS communications and CMED in Western Mass.  He explained that this is the core of a presentation that can be part of a training program; part of an EMS Con-ED; or part of a public presentation.

            Action - None.
